Contact Support
Marking your Ballot: Mark your ballot with a pen. You may mark your choices clearly with an “X" or fill in the oval with blue or black ink. The instructions below the title of each office on the ballot will tell you how many people you may choose for that office.
All ballot papers are numbered on the back as a measure to prevent and detect fraud. However, all the ballot paper lists are sealed up after the count and cannot be opened without a court order so that the secrecy of the ballot is retained. What if a put a tick instead of a cross?
If you make a mistake on your ballot, you may be able to correct your ballot by crossing out the incorrect vote and marking the correct choice. If your ballot is not able to be corrected, you should contact your County Auditor's Office for a replacement ballot.
Do not attempt to correct mistakes on the ballot by making erasures or cross outs. Prior to submitting your ballot, if you make a mistake in completing the ballot or wish to change your ballot choices, you may obtain and complete a new ballot. You have a right to a replacement ballot upon return of the original ballot.
The elector is given another ballot. A 'rejected ballot' is one which cannot be counted due to improper marking by the voter. In such cases one can distinguish an “invalid ballot", where all votes on the ballot are rendered invalid, from a “partially valid" ballot, with some votes are valid and others invalid.
Under & Over Voting Your ballot is counted even if you leave some races blank (this is an under vote). Voting more than once for a question or race will cancel that vote (this is an over vote). The part of the ballot that is not over voted will be counted.
To find out if your vote-by-mail ballot was received by your county elections official or if your provisional ballot was counted, please click on the appropriate link below or call the phone number listed for the county elections' office.
Read your entire ballot carefully, top to bottom and front to back. When filling out your ballot, use a black ink pen. Never use a pencil and never use a color of ink other than black. Fill in the oval for your choice as completely as you can.
Fact or Fiction: Is C the Most Common Answer on the ACT? The idea that C is the best answer to choose when guess-answering a question on a multiple choice test rests on the premise that ACT answer choices are not truly randomized.
Suggested clip 5 Rules (and One Secret Weapon) for Acing Multiple Choice Tests YouTubeStart of suggested clipEnd of suggested clip 5 Rules (and One Secret Weapon) for Acing Multiple Choice Tests
The most common answer on the SAT is C. No, not really. Assuming (C) is the most common answer makes no sense.
For example, if a multiple-choice question has four possible answers, and you are able to eliminate two of those answers then you improve your odds of guessing the correct answer from 25% to 50%.
Read the entire question. Answer it in your mind first. Eliminate wrong answers. Use the process of elimination. Select the best answer. Read every answer option. Answer the questions you know first. Make an educated guess.
Know what each multiple choice question is asking. Evaluate each answer to the multiple choice question. Eliminate each clearly wrong answer. If all else fails, guess like a street magician.
Ignore conventional wisdom. You've probably been given test-taking advice along the lines of “always guess the middle answer if you don't know” or "avoid any answer that uses the words 'never,' 'always,' 'all,' or 'none'" at some point in your life. Look at the surrounding answers. Choose the longest answer.
