if you follow much the same path that Nick suggested, but instead go to Settings > Display > Display Resolution it should show you the options for your screen resolution. As for your photos, take a picture, put it on your computer and check the resolution.
Go to your phone's Settings menu. Scroll down to Display. Tap on Change screen resolution. You can now select either HD (1280×720), FHD (1920×1080), or WHO (2560×1440)
Tap the text field in the middle of the pop-up window, then type in your preferred resolution width. Android resolutions can be as low as 120 or as high as 640. The larger the number, the smaller the on-screen items (text, icons, etc.) will appear.
Screen Resolution: It is recommended, as a minimum, that you use 800×600 resolution. Ideally 1024×768 or 1280×1024. Please note that some computers will not support the higher resolutions. If you're using a Windows-compatible PC, right-click on your desktop and choose Properties.
