It is somewhat confusing at first, but after learning the program it is very helpful and convenient to use! I enjoy all of the different options regarding the tools to fill out a PDF, for me it was a rental application for an apartment that i needed to fill out. The one thing I did not like is that after i had filled out my entire application via the pdffiller app, i could not e-mail the pdf until i paid for a plan. Overall, pdfFiller has been a great tool for me. It's saved me so much time and hassle, and I'm really happy with the results. Highly recommend!
I've been using pdfFiller to fill out documents for a while and I have to say that I'm very impressed with its ease of use! It's incredibly straightforward and makes it so easy to fill in the blanks on forms. Plus, they have a wide selection of templates that make my job even easier!
The only downside to pdfFiller is that the free version has some limited features. If you need more robust features, you'll have to upgrade to the premium version.

How do you change the highlight on a PDF?
Open any PDF document, go to menu View → Comment → Annotations, right-click on the “Highlight text” tool, choose “Tool Default Properties” and you will be able to change its default color.
How do I highlight an area in PDF?
Highlight your PDF Left-click the mouse, hold it, and move around the page to highlight the area or text. Release the mouse button once the area or text is selected. Once the PDF is highlighted, you have the option of adding a description to each annotation, which you can do from the left vertical panel.

Most likely because the file is composed of images (possibly scans) and does not contain any “real” text. If you can't select the text with the text selection tool then you can't highlight it, either. Use other markup tools, like the Square tool, instead.
