Geek Squad Protection Plans are an optional form of product coverage that provide additional value to our customers. You have up to 30 days after you've purchased your product to buy a Geek Squad Protection Plan.
How do I use my Geek Squad Protection Plan?
Click on “File a Claim”, then sign in or create a profile. Click on “Protection Plans”. Expand the product on the list on the left and select the product number. Click on “File a Claim” in the “More Tools” menu on the right. Fill out the claim form.
What does the Geek Squad protection plan cover?
Geek Squad Protection Plans are an optional form of product coverage that provide additional value to our customers. A Geek Squad Protection Plan does this, plus protects against power surges, failures caused by normal wear and tear. You can make a payment for your Geek Squad Home Membership on this site.
How long do you have to add Geek Squad Protection?
You have 7 days from the date of the purchase of your item to add Geek Squad protection on your item. You simply have to visit the store and speak to one of our customer service agents on your desire to add the plan.

In this instance, yes, Geek Squad warranties are amazing and cover tons of stuff. The only time it isn't worth it is when your computer breaks down AFTER the warranty expired, and you didn't renew it. The warranties aren't cheap. 3 years of protection on a laptop is roughly $300.

For lost or stolen devices covered under a Geek Squad Complete Protection plan, you can start a claim for your device online or by calling (866) 205-4388. For replacements of external batteries or, any accessories such as power chargers, covered under your Geek Squad Protection Plan please call us at (866) 933-5552.

If you are talking about the Best Buy warranty, it covers everything. For 2 years ask long as you bring even the majority of the broken headphones back they will exchange them or give you a store credit. I wouldn't buy these or any other item without buying the 2-year warranty.
How long does Best Buy warranty last?
The Warranty Period lasts for 1 year (365 days) from the date you purchased the Product. Your purchase date is printed on the receipt you received with the Product.
