Does WIC pay for formula?
WIC recognizes and promotes breastfeeding as the optimal source of nutrition for infants. For women who do not fully breastfeed, WIC provides iron-fortified infant formula. Special infant formulas and medical foods may be provided when prescribed by a physician for a specified medical condition.
How many cans of formula does WIC give you a month?
From birth to 3 months, WIC provides 9 cans of powder or approximately 26 ounces of reconstituted formula a day. Months 4 and 5, WIC provides 10 cans of powder or approximately 30 ounces of reconstituted formula a day.
How many cans of formula does a baby use a month?
I go through about 8 cans a month on the enamel 12.5oz cans.
Does WIC give you enough formula?
WIC provides enough baby food to get your infant started off right. As your baby eats more, the foods WIC provides will not be enough. Because all babies are different, WIC will not provide all the formula your baby needs. You may have to buy more formula to meet your baby's needs.
How much does WIC give you a month?
The average monthly WIC is $47. Benefits for infants under WIC are better: typically $100 for the infant and $50 for the mother.
How long does WIC give you formula?
As a WIC mom, you will receive breastfeeding support. The Formula Feeding food package provides these foods for six months after your baby is born. Moms who choose the Fully or Partially Breastfeeding food packages will receive more food for one full year.

A: WIC will continue to provide adequate nutrition to all infants. For formula-fed infants, from 1 3 months, the new food package provides the same amount of formula as the current package provides. Between 4 5 months, the new package provides more formula for infants' growing needs.
