If you claim hours on your time sheet that you didn't work, you are guilty of time sheet fraud -- altering your time sheet so that you will get paid for hours that you were not actually at work. This behavior defrauds the company, as you receive pay under false pretenses. If you get caught, you can be arrested.
Answer: Thank you very much for your question. Falsification of timesheets is a very serious matter even if it is only a couple of minutes. The matter of the falsification of timesheets is a more serious one and this could be classed as gross misconduct.
Believe it or not, it's actually perfectly legal for an employer to modify a time card without an employee's knowledge. But if you feel your time card has somehow been adjusted unfairly, speak to your supervisor and look at the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLEA) and Department of Labor laws to see if any have been broken.
Overtime. For covered, nonexempt employees, the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLEA) requires overtime pay (PDF) to be at least one and one-half times an employee's regular rate of pay after 40 hours of work in a workweek. Some states have overtime laws.
While falsification of an employee's time sheet can be a serious offense, it isn't illegal for a supervisor or employer to change an employee's time sheet as long as it reflects the correct hours that were worked, and you notify the employee of these changes.
Unfortunately, there is no exception to the law that allows an employer to withhold payment until the next payday or until the timesheet has been turned in. You may only delay payment for overtime wages that can't be determined until after the regular pay period.

If you already have Medical or once you are approved for it, call or visit your county In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) office to complete an IHSS application. Your caseworker will come to your home to complete the needs assessment: that's an interview to decide if you qualify for IHSS.
Once your Social Security number is verified, a timesheet will be generated and mailed to you. This entire process takes approximately 2-3 weeks unless there are issues with your background check.
Your provider MUST NOT mail or drop the New Timesheet at the county IHSS office. This will cause a DELAY in receiving their paycheck. If your provider sends their timesheet in early it will either be rejected for payment or held until the end of the pay period.
A: The California Department of Social Services (CDs) allows IHSS providers in California the option to submit their timesheets online through the Electronic Timesheet Website. Use of electronic timesheets is not required and is optional.
Timesheets must be submitted on or after the end of the pay period or after the last day worked. Timesheets received before the end of the pay period will not be processed until the end of the pay period and your payment could be delayed. Have an electronic device to review/approve the timesheets.
Answer: It is not a requirement that timesheets be signed. If an employee fails to sign their timesheet, you should not withhold their pay, as it is fundamentally the responsibility of employers to track and pay for hours worked.
