PDFfiller seems to do everything I need, thanks. The only negative, and it's hard to pin down, is that the UI (user interface) seems to be overly busy and cluttered. But it works.

I had issues at first as connections failed and I lost my documents that I had updated which took me a long time to do. I have had another go and it has worked a lot better.

I like that I can read-only PDFs straight from Gmail - previewing with PDFfiller is way easier than having to download through Adobe.
I feel like there is nowhere to go if you need assistance or a homepage to see all of the PDFs that you have viewed.

Open the Play Store app. Tap the Menu icon on the top left-hand-side of the screen. Select Settings Parental controls. Use the slider to turn Parental controls on. You will be asked to set up a PIN, this will stop your content restrictions from being tampered with.
