Is scan the same as fax?
Fax machines scan an image or writing on a piece of paper and digitally transmit the information to another fax machine, which prints a copy. Scanners read the information or images on a piece of paper and capture the information digitally as an image file, which can then be altered, stored or transmitted as necessary.
Can you scan to a fax machine?
The machine reads and transmits the document which prints on the recipient's fax. When you use your scanner to fax a document, you feed the document through your scanner which creates an image of the document on your computer. You then use your e-fax program to send the scanned document to the recipient's fax machine.

Open a new email message, type the fax number, followed by @efaxsend.com, into the To: field. Attach your fax document and type a message in the body of the email to use as your cover sheet. Hit Send. Your fax and cover letter will be delivered to your recipient's fax machine.
