I have not been able to figure out how to use my mouse and just scroll/roll thru the doc. I have to go to the left and click on page 2, to get to page 2, I can't just use the roller on the mouse to move.

Very quick and easy but in the end actually only needed for a one-time use so didn't make financial sense to pay further for 'just-in-case' use.

Click the top menu item Tools->Options. Click View. Look for 'Formatting Marks', and uncheck the option 'All' Click OK.
Click on Word Options. In the left pane of the Word Options dialog, click on Display. Locate the Paragraph marks option under the Always show these formatting marks on the screen section and uncheck the checkbox beside it to have Word hide the symbols.
But if you don't want to see the formatting marks, simply toggle the paragraph buttonseen in the middle of the ribbon above or as described in the videoto turn them off. If the toggle button didn't work, you may try this method: From the File tab, select Options. Click the Display tab.
