How do you set a nickname on messenger without notification?
Tap the vertical ellipsis () in the top right, then tap “Nicknames.” Tap your chosen contact, then type the nickname out. Finally, tap “Save.” You can also change the nickname from the thread itself when you or someone else changes a name, with the “Edit” link instead of “Change” from the regular Messenger app.
Can the other person see their nickname in Messenger?
Only you and other one who chat with you, can see “Nicknames in messenger”.
How can you tell if someone has a secret conversation on Messenger?
A padlock icon is displayed next to the person's profile picture to tell you if a conversation is 'Secret'. You are still like a normal Facebook message conversation able to block and report users.
Can someone see if I'm looking at their messenger feed?

Step 1: Tap the conversation containing the user you wish to give a nickname to. Step 2: Tap the user's name at the top of the screen. Step 3: Tap Nicknames. Step 4: Tap Set Nickname on the user you wish to customize. Step 5: Type the nickname you wish to give the user.
