How do you take care of a citation?
If the Notice of Bail indicates that your appearance in Court is MANDATORY, you must reserve a court date. If your Court appearance is not mandatory, there are three options for paying a citation/ticket: You may request and attend traffic school if you qualify.
What to do after getting a citation?
Plead guilty and pay the traffic fine. Pay to go to traffic school (as long as you are eligible to go to traffic school). Provide proof of correction if you got a traffic ticket for a Correctable Violation, which is something you can fix, like broken equipment.
Does a citation go on your record?
A citation does not stay on your record. A citation means that you are being “cited” for a charge. That charge, if you are convicted, or you plead guilty is what stays on your record.
How long do I have to pay a citation?
When you immediately pay a ticket, you're automatically admitting guilt and will voluntarily pay the highest fine. You'll often have up to 90 days to enter a plea or pay the fine, so take some time to explore your options.
Can I just pay my ticket and not go to court?
Whether to Fight the Ticket In most states, you can avoid having to go to court by paying your ticket online or through the mail. Generally, there are two ways of winning your case: the judge could find you not guilty after trial or the officer might not show up to court.

How do you get out of a citation?
Pull over to a safe area. Turn off the engine. Roll down the window all the way. Turn on your interior light if it is dark. Put your hands in plain sight on the steering wheel.
