Optical character recognition, or OCR, is a widespread technology that allows you to scan documents and turn them into editable soft copy documents that you can then easily edit. If you have a printed copy of a document and would like to be able to edit it, you can do it using Word.
Is it possible to scan a document and edit the text?
You can scan a document and convert the text into data that you can edit with a word processing program. This process is called OCR (Optical Character Recognition). To scan and use OCR, you need to use an OCR program, such as the ABBEY Ringleader program. Place your original document on the scanner.
