What are the 5 steps of transcription?
The major steps of transcription are initiation, promoter clearance, elongation, and termination.
What are the steps of transcription?
Transcription takes place in three steps: initiation, elongation, and termination. The steps are illustrated in the Figure below. Initiation is the beginning of transcription. It occurs when the enzyme RNA polymerase binds to a region of a gene called the promoter.

What are the 5 steps of translation?
Translation: Beginning, middle, and end Translation has pretty much the same three parts, but they have fancier names: initiation, elongation, and termination. Initiation (“beginning”): in this stage, the ribosome gets together with the mRNA and the first tRNA, so translation can begin.
What are the steps of translation?
Translation of an mRNA molecule by the ribosome occurs in three stages: initiation, elongation, and termination. During initiation, the small ribosomal subunit binds to the start of the mRNA sequence.
Which of the following is a step in translation?
The steps in translation are: The ribosome binds to mRNA at a specific area. The ribosome starts matching tRNA anticodon sequences to the mRNA codon sequence. Each time a new tRNA comes into the ribosome, the amino acid that it was carrying gets added to the elongating polypeptide chain.
What occurs during translation?
Translation is the process by which a protein is synthesized from the information contained in a molecule of messenger RNA (mRNA). ... Translation occurs in a structure called the ribosome, which is a factory for the synthesis of proteins.
How do you transcribe DNA to RNA?
Transcription is the first step in gene expression. It involves copying a gene's DNA sequence to make an RNA molecule. Transcription is performed by enzymes called RNA polymerases, which link nucleotides to form an RNA strand (using a DNA strand as a template).
How do you transcribe and translate DNA into mRNA?
The mRNA formed will be complimentary to the DNA strand. Replace the C with G, G with C, A with U, T with A. Now transcription is over. This mRNA is sandwiched between the ribosomal subunits, and the long process of translation takes place.
How do you transcribe DNA to mRNA?
The RNA to which the information is transcribed is messenger RNA (mRNA). The process associated with RNA polymerase is to unwind the DNA and build a strand of mRNA by placing on the growing mRNA molecule the base complementary to that on the template strand of the DNA.
