Have not been able to successfully append a document more than 5 pages. That process does not appear to be very user friendly to figure out. Would love some guidance on how to do specific things with this program now that I have purchased it for a year!

A font is often measured in pt (points). Points dictate the height of the lettering. There are approximately 72 (72.272) points in one inch or 2.54 cm. For example, the font size 72 would be about one inch tall, and 36 would be about a half of an inch.
What font size is 2 inches tall? Your font size should be 144 pt. to print a letter that's approximately 2 tall.
Basic Conversion of Font Size to Inches For example, a 36-point font size is equal to 1/2 inch from the bottom of the descender to the top of the ascended.
Word supports font sizes from 1 point to 1638 points, which means you can use fonts that are 1/72 of an inch all the way up to 22-3/4 inches. Don't these sizes deceive you, however. You might expect that if you set a font size to 144 points, you will end up with letters two inches high.
A font is often measured in pt (points). Points dictate the height of the lettering. There are approximately 72 (72.272) points in one inch or 2.54 cm. For example, the font size 72 would be about one inch tall, and 36 would be about a half of an inch.
The point size refers to the height of a character. Thus, a 12-pt font is 1/6 inch in height.
The font size or text size is the overall size (generally height) of a font shown on a screen or printed on a page. A font is typically measured in a point (pt) size, which is the vertical measurement of the lettering. There are approximately 72 (72.272) points in one inch or 2.54 cm.
Fonts in Microsoft Word (and most programs) are measured in Points. There are typically 72 points to an inch. You may have noticed some fonts may appear larger or smaller even though they are showing they are the same point size.
1 inch is roughly equal to 72 points. Fonts have 3 elements: x-heights, ascended & descender. X-height = height of the lowercase x character. Ascended = lines that extend above the base x character. Descender = lines that extend below the base x character. Point Size = includes all three of these elements.
When you open the program Microsoft Word, a font and font size are chosen for you. Usually, the default font is Calibri or Times New Roman, and the default font size is either 11 or 12 point.
