To add a picture to your document background, switch over to the Design tab on Word's Ribbon, and then click the Page Color button. In the dropdown menu, click the Fill Effects option. In the Fill Effects window, switch to the Picture tab, and then click the Select Picture button.
Open Microsoft Word. Word defaults an 8.5- by 11-inch page. To change the page canvas size or layout, click the “Page Layout” tab. Click the “Orientation” button and click “Landscape” to change the page to a horizontal view and click the “Size” button to select a new size for the design page.
On the Insert menu, select Smart Art Graphic. On the Smart Art tab of the ribbon, in the Insert Smart Art Graphic group, select at the type of graphic you want (List, Process, etc.), and then select a layout. Enter your text by doing one of the following:
Click the File tab, and then click New. Under Available templates, click New from existing. Click a template or a document that is similar to the one that you want to create, and then click Create New.
