The user interface for entering numbers in a field is not particularly user friendly. That's the biggest thing. A feature to 'delight' your customers would be to include a field that had a simple 'summation' function.

When going from preview back to editable view all imputed info disappeared. Not sure why that happened but I selected cancel and all info reappeared.

Insert a new column adjacent to the column with your source data. In the first cell of a newly added column, type the desired value. Start typing in the next cell, and if Excel senses a pattern, it will show a preview of data to be auto-filled in the below cells. Press the Enter key to accept the preview. Done!
First Steps With Flash Fill is a close relative of Auto Fill, but it performs a slightly different function. Rather than continuing a series of data, it can source information from other cells and present it with your desired formatting.
Click a worksheet cell. Type the first name in the cell. Click the cell that contains the name. The selected cell displays a black outline and a tiny black square in the lower-right corner. Point the cursor on the square fill handle. Click and drag this fill handle along the adjacent cells.

Click the “Data" menu and then click the "Text to Columns” icon, which is located in the Data Tools section of the Data ribbon. A dialog window opens. In most cases, chunks of data you want to convert to columns will be separated by commas, tabs or other punctuation. In this case, select the “Delimited" option.
The shortcut key for Flash Fill in Excel is CTRL+E. For example, if we have two separate names in two different columns. First type both the name in the single column and by holding on CTRL key Press E i.e. CTRL+E, so the beauty is excel will automatically fill all the names by the use of Flash Fill.
Flash Fill For Mac. Good news! Flash Fill is now available in Excel for Mac if you upgrade to version 16.13 or greater. To use it, you need to click the Flash Fill button or press CTRL+E, since it won't happen automatically as it does in Excel for Windows.
