I may be an idiot but it isn't the most intuitive experience I've had. I have been under pressure to produce so that may have something to do with it.

It can be great, but it's a little buggy at times. The signature feature often crashes the signer's device, whether mobile or desktop, and the API integration with Zapier is very finicky as well.

Make sure your face is well lit and fills the picture window in the first image. Make sure your photo identification card fills the window and your name is visible in the second photo. The name on your ID must exactly match the full name you have on your EDX account, including being in the same language/alphabet.
A verified certificate shows that you have successfully completed an EDX course with a passing grade in the verified track. Verified certificates are available for a fee that varies by course. Many students use verified certificates to apply for jobs and university admissions.
What is a verified certificate? A verified certificate is a certificate that requires learners to verify their identities using a webcam and a photo identification card. Verified certificates carry a fee that varies by course. Many learners use verified certificates for job and school applications.
While a certificate for $50 may be considered good value in the USA and other high-cost-of-living countries, in some countries with low wages it is a considerable investment. Coursera and EDX have addressed this issue by making financial assistance available to students who cannot afford the cost.
To verify your identity, follow these steps. At the top of your browser window, a message may ask you to share the camera with EDX.org. To see and respond to this message every time you take or retake a photograph for the verification process, select Share Selected Device.
Download and install tools. Click the Import icon to import the EDX public key file, EDX.pub. CTRL-click the EDX public key and select sign to validate it. Confirm that the EDX public key is listed in the GPG Keychain Access window and that it has the Short ID 044DA1D9.
Online at the IRS Identity Verification Service website. By phone at the toll-free number listed on your 5071C Letter.
EDX offers two types of certificate. Note that not all courses offer certificates, and that archived courses do not offer certificates. Verified certificates are available for a fee that varies by course. These certificates require you to verify your identity before you can receive your certificate.
