Did you ever find yourself wanting to highlight a PDF, but couldn’t? Maybe you had a question on a form, or a key point to remember. You might pine for paper copies, but at pdfFiller, we prefer to use our simple online tool to directly highlight on PDF instead. Let us tell you why. In the world without PDF highlight, you probably had to print the form in question, highlight the text with an light highlighter which would often soak through the paper and mark the text on the other side. Once you got your answer, and because you could not submit the form with highlighted text, you had to print it again to make a clean version. Besides needing a printer and a scanner; this whole process is just too time-consuming. Now look at how to highlight in PDF documents directly. You can simply use pdfFiller! To start, upload a form to your account or open a document that’s already there. When you open the form you’ll see a toolbar along the top with the Highlight button.

Click the button to activate the highlighter. Select the content that you want to highlight by clicking and dragging the cursor. Release the cursor when you have finished highlighting text. That’s it! Unlike permanent highlighters, you can use the slider to resize the highlighter, too.

Very limited use so far. Can't figure out how to select another form, either of the same type just completed or a different form without going back to the start page manually. Otherwise so far so good.

What do you like best?
The ablitiy to be able to edit documents in PDF format is great. Saving time. When we are bidding on a job i can use the form provided to us from the client. Very easy to use and has worked well ever time I have neede it. Another great feature is that the PDF filler is auto saved in your online profile... so you can take the documents with you.
What do you dislike?
some times when you go to open the PDF from my email directly... it does not up load... so then I have to down load the pdf on to my computure, open PDF fill web app then upload file..... not sure why it does this but it has happened more often lately than it did before.
Recommendations to others considering the product:
It would be great if the filler could be able to authenticate docuements, a big one for us is Bonding, When we submit a bond they require an e-bonding ( look it up) the ebond authenicates the signatures from 3 different parties and leave a digital paper trail that can be confrimed by the client. We recently had to do this and the one website mobile bonds.com has an interface that is not user freindly for set up... and we had to spend countless time with the tech on the phone for the first few bonds. If the filler is able to do this that would be great.
What problems are you solving with the product? What benefits have you realized?
Allowing us to make our bid proposals look great, avoid hand writing in documents, setting us apart from the rest. we also can share the file with my staff making it even better

For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Go to the “Toolbar” tab and select the “Comment” button. You can see the “Highlight” tool on the fourth button of the toolbar. Use your cursor to select the text you want to highlight. You can also change the highlight color in this page by right-clicking the highlighted text.
Click “Annotations” or “Drawing Annotations”. To highlights parts of the PDF which are not text you'll need to use one of the drawing markup tools, such as Rectangle or Oval, and set their fill color to the highlight color you wish to use.
Open PDF. Click the “Open File” button to select the file you'd like to highlight. This will open the file within PDF element. Highlight Text in PDF. Go to the “Comment” tab and select “Highlight”. Save Highlighted PDF. Once you have highlighted the text, you can save the changes.
Most likely because the file is composed of images (possibly scans) and does not contain any “real” text. If you can't select the text with the text selection tool then you can't highlight it, either. Use other markup tools, like the Square tool, instead.
Select the Highlight Text tool from the Comment & Markup toolbar. Drag over the text that you want highlighted. The text is now highlighted.
