While pdfFiller allows you to create, edit and e-sign PDFs, you can also easily reduce a PDF file size. This is useful when you need to send a large PDF document by email or fax, or download it to your device or cloud storage, when your internet connection is unstable. You don’t have to install additional software or switch between multiple apps — all the functionality for compressing a PDF online is available in your account.

Start by uploading a PDF to pdfFiller. Click ADD NEW and choose how you’d like to add a PDF to your account. Don’t forget that you can find a fillable PDF in our online library of 25 million documents. Ask your teammates for a specific PDF or create your own document from scratch.

To make a PDF smaller, split it into several documents. Select the PDFs you want to compress in the pdfFiller dashboard or in the folder where you store them, and click Split.

Split the pages of your large PDF into separate documents. These new documents will be saved as a downloadable ZIP file.

To select pages for another document, click Create another document and select the pages you need.

After you've selected pages to shrink a PDF, click Split. Then, select the destination where your document will be saved — Desktop, Google Drive, OneDrive, Dropbox, Box. Then click Download Now.

That’s it — you now have several small PDFs that can be quickly shared or edited. To use the pdfFiller PDF size reducer one more time, return to your dashboard.

I've been wanting to experiment with ways to use Adobe Creative Cloud (CC) to address PDF file size issues. For every one page of content, you can specify an optimal formatting setting for that page within the PDF (there's even a setting to disable the “optimized” feature). You can always revise your document. All your PDFs are stored in My Docs until you delete them.
