For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
What is ISS we do not understand? ISS is the Issue Date of your Driver's License. If you are using the software, and you find out that your ID does not have an ISS (Date Issued), you will not be able to use this feature, instead remove the data from the ID number field and the expiration date field.
In the sample California driver's license card, you can see ISS is September 30, 2010. So this is your official issue date. It is the abbreviation of Issue Date, shortened as ISS.
The ISS number is the date the license was issued. The California Department of Motor Vehicles.
The newer style MO drivers licenses have a field called ISS for the issue date. The old style MO driver's license has a string of numbers vertically along the photo that are encoded with the issue date.
DD is an abbreviation for Document Discriminator. A number of states started adding this piece of information to their driver's licenses several years ago. The DD is a security code that identifies where and when the license was issued. It, thus, uniquely identifies each card for a given individual.
I believe EXP is short for Expiration Date and ISS is short for the Date Issued. Some licenses don't match up with the data entry screens, as states vary in how the license is designed.
A: Field 4d is the driver license number (also known as customer identifier). Field 5 is the document discriminator. It is an internal number used to uniquely identify a particular document issued to an individual from others that may have been issued in the past.
Less than five years from the date you applied for your DL (less than six years for your ID card), your photo DL/ID card will be considered a limited term (LT) DL. More than five years from the date you applied for your DL (more than six years for your ID card), your photo DL/ID card will be considered full term.
