This screencast will introduce you to the Blackboard environment at Fresno State. When you first log in to the Fresno State Blackboard site you will be on your My Blackboard page. In the upper right corner, you will find the Global Navigation Menu which provides you with quick and easy access to critical and timely information regarding your courses, and classmates. There are three tabs at the top of your My Blackboard Page, Courses and Organizations, Notifications Dashboard, and Hot Spots. You will find the following modules on the Courses and Organizations tab. The Tools link provides access to all the commonly used Tools in Blackboard. You will only see information in this area if your instructors are using the tools in Blackboard. The Hot Links module links to the most commonly visited Fresno State websites. In the middle of your My Blackboard page you will see the Courses' module that provides a list of all the courses you are enrolled in. Remember you will only see your courses, once the instructor has made them available. You may group your courses by term as well as “hide” old courses by clicking on the quot;gear” icon that appears in the upper right corner of the Course List and selecting the desired options. The Organizations Module, located below My Courses, contains links to all the organizations that you may be enrolled in and may be manipulated in the same way as the Courses module. The Welcome to Blackboard is updated often and contain important information regarding Blackboard maintenance and where to get help. This area is where you will find the courses that allow self-enrollment, such as the Blackboard Student Orientation. In this area you will also find The Library Modules, and information regarding Grades First. Finally, in the upper left corner of the page, you will find the Quick Links tool. This tool allows users to quickly locate any heading or section within any page in Blackboard and jump to it. It is also here where any available keyboard shortcuts may be found.
