What is required for affidavit of support?
Be U.S. citizen or national or a permanent resident. Be at least 18 years of age. Be domiciled (live) in the United States. Meet all of the financial requirements of a sponsor pursuant to INA 213A.
Do USCIS affidavits need to be notarized?
The letter does not need to be notarized, but it is important to include a sworn statement that states, “I swear, under penalty of perjury, that the foregoing is true and correct to the best of my knowledge.” The petitioner should understand that an affidavit is only supporting evidence.
Can I fill out I-864 form online?
Can I file Form I-864 online? If you received Form I-864 through the National Visa Center (NVC), you can submit it online through the Consular Electronic Application Center (CEAC).
Can I-864 be signed electronically?
For benefit requests filed electronically as permitted by form instructions, USCIS accepts signatures in an electronic format. Benefit requestors must follow the instructions provided to properly sign electronically, see 8 CFR 103.2(a)(2).
Does form I-864 need to be notarized?
It is not mandatory to notarize the form. Concurrently, as a sponsor, you must sign the form, even if a joint sponsor is required to submit form I-864 to address the income requirement.
