Click the Insert tab. In the "Text" area, select Date & Time. Choose the format you want. Select Update automatically if it is not already selected. This will set the date to change each day. Click OK.
To insert the current date or time within the body of a Word document, place the cursor where you want the stamp. From the Insert tab, click the calendar and clock icon in the Text section. In the pop-up, choose the format and then click OK to insert.

Position the insertion point where you want the date to appear. Display the Insert tab of the ribbon. Click the Date & Time tool, in the Text group. Word displays the Date and Time dialog box. (See Figure 1.) Select a format for the date. Click on OK.
