What is adding a watermark?

A watermark is a text or image that is overlaid on a document, often used for branding or ownership purposes. When added to a lease agreement, a watermark helps to protect the document's integrity and indicates its ownership, ensuring that the content is recognizable and secure.

The purpose of adding a watermark to PDF documents

Watermarks serve to distinguish original documents from unauthorized copies. For lease agreements, they emphasize legal rights and ownership and can help deter fraud or unauthorized alterations. Furthermore, a watermark can convey confidentiality, indicating the information contained within is sensitive and should be handled appropriately.

Is the watermark visible on all PDF readers?

Generally, watermarks added via pdfFiller are compatible with most PDF readers, ensuring that the watermark remains visible regardless of the platform used to open the document. However, it’s a good practice to check how your watermark appears across different readers to ensure consistent visibility.

Does adding a watermark increase the PDF file size?

Typically, adding a watermark does result in a slight increase in file size, depending on the complexity of the watermark design (e.g., text versus images). However, the increase is generally minimal and should not hinder the document's usability.

Why should you add watermarks to PDFs and other files?

I love using PDFfiller. I believe it is a wonderful program. I use it so often that I started scanning in personal files and paperwork at home to keep me organized. I can fill out anything within just a few moments and it looks like I've spent hours on my documents. The only negative with this program is the process moves a little. Sometimes when I'm rushing to complete documents I doesn't seem to matter what network or computer I use, I still feel like from the time to load a document to the time of completion and sending out there the other parties, its taken me a little too long for my personal opinion but I still use the program religiously to complete just about every document from legal forms that I create to filling out paperwork at the doctor's office for my children. I highly recommend PDFfiller!
