6 Answers. Unfortunately, you can't change the font size or styling in a drop-down list that is created using data validation. You cannot change the default but there is a codeless workaround. Select the whole sheet and change the font size on your data to something small, like 10 or 12.
Click the "Font" item in the Properties pane to open a dialog box in which you can set font properties for the combo box. Type any font size you'd like for the "Size" text box, then click "OK" to install the new size in the combo box.
