I signed up for the free trial and was… I signed up for the free trial and was able to amend 2 documents with ease.If I had the kind of life that required me to need further amendments in this way, this service is absolutely one I would use. Thing is, I just don't, so I didn't sign up after the free trial! Had a little difficulty cancelling the subscription, but honestly - I think that was 'on me', I just wasn't entirely sure what I was doing. However, it's a great service and the company responded to my concern when the subscription fee was taken by emailing me back and confirming that they would be refunding the cost. So, I think you can trust this company.

It looks like regular text, but it's not: The field reflects some changing aspect of the document or other conditions, like the date and time. Many other commands in Word insert fields into a document, such as the Page Number commands. The Field dialog box, however, lists them all.
Display or hide field codes in Word 2007/2010/2013 Step 1: in Word 2007, click Office icon , and then click Word Options; in Word 2010/2013, click File tab , and then click Options. Step 2: click Advanced, and then check Show field codes instead of their values to display field code in document.
To set up those custom fields, go into the Info menu in Word, and on the right side of the screen click on the dropdown arrow next to Properties > Advanced Properties. In this pop-up, you can add the recipient field by name. Select text as the type, and the value. Click Add, and then OK.
Select the field you want to lock. Update the field, if desired, by pressing Shift+F9. Press Ctrl+F11.
Position the insertion point where you want the field to be inserted. On the Insert tab, click Quick Parts and then click Field. ... (Optional) On the Categories list, select a category to narrow the list of field names. On the Field Names list, click the desired field name.
Place the cursor in your document where you want to insert the field. From the Insert tab on the Ribbon, in the Text group, select Quick Parts and then select Field . In the Field dialog box, from the Field names list, select the field.
Choose the Field option from the Insert menu, then choose the field name from the list of fields presented. When you click your mouse on OK, the field you requested is inserted in your document. Press Ctrl+F9. (This is the easiest method, regardless of your version of Word.)
