Quite good!Only after I finished, did I see that the date next to my signature at the bottom was misaligned and printing over some text on the form. So, I had to go back to edit that. Very helpful tool, though!

The purpose of waivers is to prevent teams from colluding to exchange players outside of the normal trade rules, as well as to encourage parity by giving lower-ranked teams the right of first refusal to claim players which are no longer wanted by their former club.
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia. In North American sports contracts, waivers is a type of player transaction. A player under contract to a team is placed on "waivers" for a specified period of time; during this time other teams may submit a claim for that player's contract.
If a player is waived, any team may claim him. If more than one team claims the player from waivers, the team with the weakest record in the player's league gets preference. If no team in the player's league claims him, the claiming team with the weakest record in the other league gets preference.
Owners can put a claim for that player, but must wait a specified amount of time until the waiver clears. The team that puts a claim on a player - and who has the higher waiver priority number - will receive the player when waivers clear. All available players not on Waivers are considered Free Agents.
If multiple teams have claimed the player, the team with the highest priority (explained later) gets the player. If nobody claims the player, the player has cleared waivers and the team is free to assign the player to their AHL affiliate.
If one of the other 29 teams does enter a claim, they inherit the player with the exact contract, and the player is off his old team's books. A waiver claim costs a team virtually nothing. They don't give up any of their own players or draft picks as they would if they were acquiring another teams' player in a trade.
So why waive the player? Expiring contracts are valuable to the teams because that means the team can clear room under the salary cap and go after free agents the next year. A lot of times, a team will let the player play until the end of the season.
The purpose of waivers is to prevent teams from colluding to exchange players outside of the normal trade rules, as well as to encourage parity by giving lower-ranked teams the right of first refusal to claim players which are no longer wanted by their former club.
A player is waived by a team means he is released by the team without any trade in which that player is involved. He will have some years left in his contract . ... If not then he will be given his old salary by the team that waived him. At the point he is waived and clears waivers ,he is eligible to sign with any team .
NBA teams can release a player to the waiver wire, where he can stay for 48 hours (during the regular season). While he is on waivers, other teams may claim him, for his existing salary. ... Players waived after March 1 are not eligible to be on a team's playoff roster.
