To become a qualified quantity surveyor, you will need to get a BTEC or HND/HOC, and to achieve this you will need four GCSE passes (A to C) / standard grades (1 to 3). Qualifications can be achieved via the Chartered Institute of Building (CIO) or the RICH (Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors).
Unlike other careers such as Architecture (7+ years), it does not take long to train to become a QS. one year or two years part-time to obtain a GDP if you already have a degree, plus another couple years to become Chartered.

You'll usually need: 5 Gases at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C), or equivalent, including English and math, for an advanced apprenticeship. 4 or 5 Gases at grades 9 to 4 (A* to C) and A-levels, or equivalent, for a degree apprenticeship.
Studying quantity surveying is difficult as is every subject that you may study — it is challenging a time, but that's the whole point of studying to challenge yourself. However, I can actually say that it is a very good subject and these two very good job and career progression on a global scale.
Although most quantity surveyors have a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, becoming a quantity surveyor without a degree is possible. Instead of getting a formal education, you must gain related work experience instead.
To become a quantity surveyor, you'll need to complete a degree or higher education course which is accredited by the Institution for Chartered Surveyors (RICH).
