How do I reschedule my driving test?
Speak with a DMV customer service representative and ask to reschedule your road test appointment. Explain your reason for canceling or rescheduling. You will most likely be asked for your driver's license number, learner's permit number, full name, date of birth and possibly even your Social Security number.
How can I change the date of my driving test?
Changing Your Driving Test Date You must give at least 3 clear working days' notice to change your test date, or you'll have to pay again. Sundays and public holidays don't count as working days. You can change your appointment 3 times for free — after that, you'll have to cancel your test and book a new one.
Can you be late to your road test?
If you arrive at the road test site after the time of your appointment, the license examiner can refuse to conduct your test and can cancel your appointment. If you do not appear for your road test, you lose the appointment. There is no other penalty if you are late or do not appear for a road test appointment.
What happens if you are late to DMV appointment?
If it's early in the day, and you've missed your appointment, then they'll likely tell you to take a number, and you'll be there for hours with everyone else. If you choose not to take a number, you'll likely have to reschedule. They might also suggest you wait, and hope the next person or the person after that is late.
What's the latest you can go to DMV?
Consider going in late. Lines start forming outside many Bay Area DMV offices an hour or more before they open. (Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. every weekday except Wednesday, when they open at 9.)
