Select the columns you want to change. Click Format. Columns. Click More options. Make your changes and click Apply.
The best thing to do is to write your document in a single column (or normal) format and leave a space or line (Press Insert and select Horizontal Line) where you want to split the content. Go to the top of the document, or where you want to start the columns. Click and hit Enter or Return twice.
The column feature in Docs currently doesn't support different column sizes. To create an asymmetrical layout with two columns, use a two column table. Drag the borders where you want them to be to create the asymmetrical columns.

Go to the View menu. Then, point your mouse to Freeze rows or Freeze columns. Select the No frozen rows or No frozen columns option. When you scroll, you'll notice that there are no frozen row(s) or column(s).
On your computer, open a spreadsheet in Google Sheets. Select a row or column you want to freeze or unfreeze. At the top, click View. Freeze. Select how many rows or columns to freeze.
