Converting labels to map document annotation In the RCMP table of contents, right-click the layer you are labeling. Click Convert Labels to Annotation. For the Store Annotation option, click In the map. Specify the features for which you want to create annotation.
In the Catalog tree, right-click the database in which you want to create the new annotation class. Point to New > Feature Class. Type the Name. Click the Type drop-down arrow and click Annotation Features. Click Next.
Using annotation is one option in Arc GIS for storing text to place on your maps. Annotation can be used to describe particular features or add general information to the map. With annotation, the position, text string, and display properties are all stored together and are all individually editable.
Click the Edit tool. On the Editor toolbar. Click the feature or features you want to move. Hold down the SHIFT key while clicking features to select additional features. Drag the feature or features to the desired location.
The annotation layer floats above the content layer in a PDF file, like a sheet of glass on top of a printed sheet of paper. The content layer contains images, form fields, and most text. When you convert a Word document to a PDF, the content written by the original author forms the content layer.
On the View tab, click Catalog Pane, and expand Databases. Expand the default database or the database containing your data. To create a multi patch feature class, right-click the database, click New and click Feature Class. Drag the feature class onto the map.
