Click on Page Layout tab (Word 2010) or the Design tab (Word 2013) In the ribbon, click on Watermark. A vertical scroll list of six watermarks will appear with a set of menu options below. From the menu options, select Custom Watermark.
Open the document that has the picture that you want to place the watermark on. Go to the Page Layout tab. Select Page Background group. Click on Watermark. Click Custom Watermark. Click Text watermark. A box will open up. Type the text that you want to use as a watermark in the box. Click Insert.
On the Page Layout tab, select Watermark > Custom Watermark. Choose Picture Watermark and select a picture, or choose Text watermark and type your watermark text in the Text box. Click OK.
Open the document that has the picture that you want to place the watermark on. Go to the Page Layout tab. Select Page Background group. Click on Watermark. Click Custom Watermark. Click Text watermark. A box will open up. Type the text that you want to use as a watermark in the box. Click Insert.
On the Design tab, select Watermark. In the Insert Watermark dialog, select Text and either type your own watermark text or select one, like DRAFT, from the list. Then, customize the watermark by setting the font, layout, size, colors, and orientation. Select OK.
Click on Page Layout tab. In the ribbon, click on Watermark. A vertical scroll list of six watermarks will appear with a set of menu options below. From the menu options, select Custom Watermark.
Go to File>Options>Advanced and scroll down to the "Show document content" section of the dialog and uncheck the box for "Show picture placeholders". I just found out that on certain pages the watermark will not show up yet on others it won't.
Navigate to View | Header And Footer. Navigate to Insert | Picture | WordArt. Choose a style from the selection (the choices on the first row work best for watermarks). Insert the watermark text (in our example, Draft).
