Public Assembly. Definition. Buildings in which people gather for social or recreational activities, whether in private or non-private meeting halls.
A Place of Assembly (PA) Certificate of Operation is required for premises where 75 or more members of the public gather indoors or 200 or more gather outdoors, for religious, recreational, educational, political, or social purposes, or to consume food or drink.
An assembly occupancy is generally defined as “an occupancy (1) used for a gathering of 50 or more persons for deliberation, worship, entertainment, eating, drinking, amusement, awaiting transportation, or similar uses; or (2) used as a special amusement building, regardless of occupant load.”
A Place of Assembly space is where large groups of people gather for any activity.

PW6: Certificate of Occupancy Inspection Application.
Temporary certificate of occupancy (TCO) Temporary certificates of occupancy are generally sought after and acquired when a building is still under minor construction, but there is a certain section or number of floors that are deemed to be habitable, and, upon issuance of TCO, can legally be occupied or sold.
Alteration Type 2 (Alt 2) An NYC DOB Alteration Type 2 is when you are doing a renovation and not changing the certificate of occupancy. This means no change to the use, egress, or occupancy.
Temporary CO A Temporary Certificate of Occupancy or TCO indicates that the property is safe for occupancy, but it has an expiration date. Twos typically expire 90 days after they are issued.
