For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
You put unfinished college on a resume if it directly applies to the job that you're seeking, if it explains a work gap on your resume, or if you're still in the process of attaining a degree. Put the information about your unfinished college experience at the bottom of your resume, in the Education section.
Employers do not routinely require job applicants to prove that they have earned their high school diploma or GED. However, some employers may request that you furnish a copy of your high school diploma or GED in order to save them time and money on conducting education verification for all applicants.
Educational Background Checks Are Critical By using degree verification services, employers can spot applicants who exaggerate or lie about their degrees and other educational qualifications. As a result, employers avoid the most dishonest individuals and reduce the risk of later legal actions for negligent hiring.
Only about 34 percent of employers check the educational qualifications listed on resumes, according to a 2004 study by the Society for Human Resource Management even though the association found that 25 percent of people inflated their educational achievements on resumes.
Contact the school. Most college registrars will confirm dates of attendance and graduation, as well as degrees awarded and majors, upon request. Research the school on the Internet. Ask the applicant for proof of the degree and the school's accreditation.
Employers may contact the school you claim to have graduated from to verify that you do in fact have a high school diploma. Others use specialized background check services to verify your educational background, employment history, credit history and any criminal records.
Don't Lie About Having a Degree (Do This Instead) More employers are requiring candidates to possess college degrees than ever before. In fact, a recent survey proves that of all resume lies, hiring managers detest ones about academic credentials and degrees the most.
To verify the legitimacy of your GED, a potential employer may ask you for a copy of the official transcript. Some states, such as Connecticut, make it easy for potential employers to check your GED status directly as long as they have your written permission.
