Request your phone company to block unidentified fax numbers. Most phone companies will have a Privacy Director service for fax lines. Call your phone company and ask to use this service which will block all unidentified numbers. File a complaint with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC).
Call the sender and opt out from their list. In the United States, the 2005 Junk Fax Prevention Act requires all fax marketers to provide a way for receivers to opt out of future faxes. Usually they will provide an opt-out telephone number, but sometimes they will provide a fax number, a website or an email address.
Congress first addressed the issue of junk faxes in the Telephone Consumer Protection Act of 1991 (CPA). Although this legislation dealt broadly with larger issues of nuisance telemarketing tactics, it included provisions making it illegal for any person to send an unsolicited advertisement to a fax machine.
Try to lookup who the Range holder (Telecom service provider who was issued the number by the regulator) for the offending Fax Number. Then call the Telephone Service Provider of the offending faxes and ask them to stop them from making nuisance calls. Find out if the offending faxes is operated by a business.
