Fill in the Blank Love what this has done for making my job so much easier at a very reasonable rate. For my business this was and is the best tool I have for putting together insurance reports. Build or scan in a template and fill in the blanks when you need to send a report out. BAHM! DONE! Probably something I have not spent enough time to figure out yet but as of now each time I fill in a blank template it auto saves it so my original always has to be cleared before new entry.

I am not the most skilled with modern technology. As a startup NFP we don’t have the financial capacity to either hire, or contract with an accounting professional to prepare our year end 990s. Click the “Formulas” tab in the ribbon menu at the top of the Excel window. Click the small arrow next to the “Error Checking” button in that area. Move your mouse over “Circular References” and the last entered circular reference will appear. Click on this reference to jump to that cell on the spreadsheet.
If you can't find the error, click the Formulas tab, click the arrow next to Error Checking, point to Circular References, and then click the first cell listed in the submenu. Review the formula in the cell.

The circular reference error message “There are one or more circular references where a formula refers to its own cell either directly or indirectly. This might cause them to calculate incorrectly. Try removing or changing these references, or moving the formulas to different cells.”
The best method is to press Ctrl + F (known as the find function) and then select the tab that says Replace. Type #REF! In the Find field and leave the Replace field empty, then press Replace All. This will remove any #REF Excel errors from formulas and thus fix the problem.
Iterative calculations stop when one of the conditions defined (iterations count or change value) are matched. For example, let's assume that Maximum Iterations is set to 100 and Maximum Change to 0.001.
When a circular reference occurs in a spreadsheet, you'll see a warning like this: “There are one or more circular references where a formula refers to its own cell either directly or indirectly. This might cause them to calculate incorrectly.
Circular Reference. A formula in a cell that directly or indirectly refers to its own cell is called a circular reference. ... For example, the formula in cell A3 below directly refers to its own cell. This is not possible. Note: Excel returns a 0 if you accept this circular reference.
The circular reference error message “There are one or more circular references where a formula refers to its own cell either directly or indirectly. This might cause them to calculate incorrectly. Try removing or changing these references, or moving the formulas to different cells.”
Find out and locate the cell in Circular Reference Step 1: Go to the Formula Auditing group under the Formula tab. Step 2: Click the Arrow button besides the Error Checking button. Step 3: Move mouse over the Circular References item in the drop-down list, and it shows the cells with circular references.
