I like it but wish there was an edit instead of erase and text to change something. There may be but I'm not aware of it so a webinar would be very helpful.

Right-click in the drawing area, and choose Options. On the Selection tab, choose the settings you want. Among other settings, you can set. Whether objects to be selected are previewed during selection. Whether selected objects are highlighted.
1) Right-click anywhere in the drawing area (with no objects selected) and choose Options from the right-click menu. 2) Choose the Selection tab. You can enable selection preview whether commands are active or not. You can also disable it completely by turning off both options, but I don't recommend you do that.
Toggle the Quick Properties ON or OFF using CTRL-SHIFT-P. Set the system variable MODE value to 0 (zero) or -1 to disable, or 1 to enable.
However, you may prefer to turn the Lasso selection off. This can be achieved by going to the OPTIONS menu in AutoCAD, Selection Tab, and uptick Allow press and drag for Lasso. You can also turn the lasso off in the command line, setting the PICKUP system variable to 3.
Click the application menu (the A in the top-left corner), and select Options. On the Selection tab, clear the Use Shift to add to selection option. Choose OK to close the Options window.
For Windows versions of AutoCAD/AutoCAD LT, type OP or OPTIONS to bring up the Options dialog. In the Options, go to the Selection tab and uncheck the lasso feature, shown in the screenshot below. For Mac versions of AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT, type the variable name PICKUP at the Command line.
