While easy to use, plenty of features and very helpful for my needs, even with the follow-along snap menu to the right, it is simply not an intuitive dashboard..

All commercial filming activities in national parks, such as this film crew at White Sands National Monument, require a permit. In most cases, a permit is not necessary for visitors engaging in casual, non-commercial filming.
Council owned parks and buildings, transport stations, church property, shopping malls, theaters, stadiums and the like usually do enforce restrictions. Filming on public transport is the same as on private land; you do need the owners' or operators' consent.
PRIVATE PROPERTY: In L.A., the law does not distinguish between filming done indoors or outdoors, or on private vs. public property. Outside a certified sound stage or studio back lot, all filming requires a film permit. Technically, students even need a permit to film on campus.
For movies/film production you definitely need permits or make sure no one but people on your talent release forms are in front of the camera. ... For YouTube videos if you are in a public area (at least in the U.S.) you can film anything without any kind of permission.
While there are no fees to film or photograph in Central Park, donations to Central Park Conservancy are greatly appreciated.
Public, private, permits and proof Depending on the type of photography in question, many parks and transit systems require those wishing to record to obtain a permit in advance. Usually such permits require that a fee be paid and that proof of insurance be provided.
Generally speaking, though, when you are in public, it is legal to record someone, video record or audio record, as long as they don't have what is called, an expectation of privacy, or rather a reasonable expectation of privacy.
If the recording is done by visible cameras, federal law seems to allow videotaping of individuals in the workplace, even without their consent or knowledge, as long as it is not done to commit a crime.
It is generally lawful to take photographs of people in public places without their consent. However, you must not film or take photos of people if they are in a place where they can expect privacy (such as a public changing area or toilet) and that person: ... has not given consent to be filmed or photographed.
”Two Party Consent” means the person recording the conversation must notify both (or all) of the other parties that the audio recording is taking place, and they all must consent to the recording. Generally audio recordings without any “consent” of at least one (or all) parties to the conversation are illegal.
