What is a Title Brand? Title brands indicate whether a used vehicle has sustained damage or might be potentially unsafe to drive. If a vehicle's title has been “branded,” it is an official designation made by a state agency and should appear on the vehicle's title paperwork.
Buying a Vehicle with a Branded Title If you're thinking about buying a pre-owned vehicle, you should inspect the vehicle thoroughly and research its history. Remember, if a wrecked vehicle is repaired for less than the cost of its value, it won't have a branded title.
A salvage-title vehicle has been declared total loss by an insurance company and usually cannot be legally driven on the road. Once the car has been repaired and declared roadworthy, it will get a rebuilt title. ... Sometimes you may hear a salvage title or rebuilt title referred to as a branded title.
A branded title means that a vehicle has been taken hold of by an insurance company and an insurance claim has been paid to the owner of the vehicle. Then this vehicle is sold through private auctions to rebuilders (like us) around the world.
A branded title vehicle is any vehicle that has experienced an insurance incident. ... It all depends on your insurance company. Some insurers won't sell comprehensive or collision coverage if your vehicle has a rebuilt title. But you should be able to obtain basic liability for it. One positive is that rebuilt cars are cheaper than those with clean titles making them cheaper to insure.
