I like that I can bring in any fillable… I like that I can bring in any fillable document, it makes everything to do with a business much easier. It's just not very easy to do. I have to remember how to do it every time. Not sure if that is my fualt or if this is just not that user friendly.

Ask a teacher (or two) who knows you well and in whose class you excelled. The better relationship you have with your recommender, the more insightful your recommendation letter will be. It helps if the teacher is known to be a strong writer, too! Request your reference letters in person.
You say: I'm applying for an internship, and I need to include two letters of recommendation. Would you be willing to write one for me? You say: Thank you for agreeing to write a letter of recommendation for me. You say: I know this is a busy time of year for you.
To ask for a reference from an employer, send them a polite email well in advance, so they have time to craft the perfect letter. Furthermore, you can even include bulleted examples to guide your employer into writing a letter that is perfect for the job you're applying to.
To ask your professor for a letter of recommendation via email, start by including your name and the purpose of your email in the subject line, like “Recommendation for Sarah Smith.” Then, start your email with something like “I am writing to ask if you would be willing to write a letter of recommendation for me,”
Make your request direct and clear. If you're meeting face-to-face, speak clearly and confidently: ask if your boss will write you a letter of recommendation, explain the context for which you need the letter, and give the date by which you'll need the letter in hand.
You're asking for a favor, and it's not polite to ask on short notice. Admit that upfront and apologize for it, even if you don't feel like it's really your fault. Second, have a good reason for asking so late, and tell it. Not an excuse -- an actual reason.

Asking for the Letter Timing: Two weeks is the minimum lead-time you should give a professor to complete a letter of recommendation. A month is better than two weeks. The Initial Request for a Letter: My view is that asking for things is best done in person, when that is possible.
