In your Word document, click Insert > Chart. Select the type of chart you want, such as column or pie chart, and click OK. (If you're not sure which to choose, move down the Charts list to preview each type.) Enter your data into the spreadsheet that automatically opens with the chart.

Yes, it is possible to convert from one chart to another. For most of the 2 dimensional charts, we are able to change the chart type to give a different look to the document, or we can select a different chart type of any data series and then turn that into a combination of charts.
