How do I make an appointment at the DMV?

Do I need an appointment for the DMV?

Welcome to the DMV Appointment System. For faster service, please make an appointment before you visit a DMV field office. Most vehicle registration items may be processed through the mail or online and do not require in-person visits to a DMV field office.

Can you go to DMV without appointment?

It's a fact that customers with appointments do not wait as long as customers without appointments and complete their transactions sooner. What's the best time to go to the DMV without an appointment?

As far as daily is concerned this is usually earlier in the morning (between 8-11 am), or later in the afternoon after the lunch rush (from around 2-4 pm).
