Starting on the first day of your last period, just count out the average number of days between your periods (aka your average cycle length that you calculated) and that gives you the projected start date of your next period.
What comes out during your period is the blood and tissue that build up as the lining of your uterus each month. Your period flow can be light, heavy, or in between. Sometimes menstrual blood also will be different shades of red, from light to dark. You may see some dark clumps or clots of blood, which is normal.
It's perfectly normal to notice some clumps from time to time during your period. These are blood clots that may contain tissue. As the uterus sheds its lining, this tissue leaves the body as a natural part of the menstrual cycle. So clots of tissue are usually nothing to be concerned about.
Your menstrual blood may be thin and watery or thick and sticky. Thin and watery discharge is usually pinkish while thick and sticky discharge is usually brownish. These changes are common at the end of your cycle after most of the endometrial tissue has passed.
A miscarriage can happen any time after fertilization. If you didn't know you were pregnant, it would be easy to mistake it for a period. Both a period and a miscarriage can cause spotting to heavy bleeding. After the first eight weeks or so, it's less likely that you'll mistake a miscarriage for a period.
Passing Tissue from the Vagina Some vaginal discharge is normal during pregnancy and should not be a cause for alarm. However, when the discharge is significant appearing in grape-like clusters, often with fluid it could be pregnancy tissue you're looking at. See your doctor even if you're not sure.
Amenorrhea is the absence of menstrual bleeding. During the menstrual cycle, hormones cause an ovary to produce and release an egg. Sometimes a person will have no menstrual bleeding for more than three cycles despite having had regular periods until then.
The eggs are super tiny too small to see with the naked eye. During your menstrual cycle, hormones make the eggs in your ovaries mature when an egg is mature, that means it's ready to be fertilized by a sperm cell. These hormones also make the lining of your uterus thick and spongy. Voilà, it's your period!
