To insert the current date or time within the body of a Word document, place the cursor where you want the stamp. From the Insert tab, click the calendar and clock icon in the Text section. In the pop-up, choose the format and then click OK to insert.
View Document Properties in Word To view properties for an open document in Word, click the File tab and click on Info. On the right side of the window, the document properties are listed, including the Last Modified date, the date the document was Created, the Author, and the number of Words in the document.
Choose Header and Footer from the View menu. Word displays the Header and Footer toolbar. Position the insertion point within the header or footer at the place you want the date to appear. Click on the Insert Date tool on the Header and Footer toolbar. Click on Close.
