To find a person's name and salary, go to the portion of the FedsDataCenter.com site for searching federal pay or USPS pay. Next, enter the person's first name. This can be tricky. For example, if you are looking for a person you know as Steve that may not be how the database has listed his name.
A person's income tax return is confidential and not available for public inspection, but there are a variety of public records that shed light on someone's financial situation.
Under open government transparency guidelines, information on public employees (including those employed by Federal, state, and municipal governments) is a matter of public record. Information available through this dataset may include name, job title, duty station, and salary for most Federal civilian employees.
On the one hand, teachers are classified as public employees, which means information like salary should be a matter of public record. Because these salaries are paid using taxpayer money, the public has the right to know how the money is being used.
Employers calculate wages by multiplying an hourly rate times the number of hours worked. The federal government sets a minimum wage, but states may require workers to be paid more. For instance, as of 20010 the state of Texas required only the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour.
Multiply the regular hourly rate by 1.5 to find the overtime hourly rate. Then multiply the overtime hourly rate by the number of overtime hours. Add the overtime pay to the employees pay for the first 40 hours worked to find the employee's total wages.
