For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
Resolution refers to the number of pixels in an image. Resolution is sometimes identified by the width and height of the image as well as the total number of pixels in the image. For example, an image that is 2048 pixels wide and 1536 pixels high (2048 × 1536) contains (multiply) 3,145,728 pixels (or 3.1 Megapixels).
Checking resolution on a PC To check a photo's resolution on a Windows PC, select the file you want to use. Right-click on the image and then select “Properties.” A window will appear with the image's details. Go to the “Details” tab to see the image's dimensions and resolution.
The resolution refers to the number of pixels (dots) per inch (DPI). For example, if an image contains 800-by-600 pixels and has a size of 4-by-3 inches, then the resolution is 800 pixel / 4 inches = 200 DPI.
Step 1: Multiply the detectors number of horizontal pixels by the number of vertical pixels to get the total number of pixels of the detector. Step 2: Multiply total number of pixels by the bit depth of the detector (16 bit, 14 bit etc.) to get the total number of bits of data.
Hit the Share button (in the lower left corner of the screen on iOS 12). On the bottom row of functions, if you don't already see it, scroll to the right to find the Show Image Information function. Click that, and it will show you the photo's file size, file type, and pixel length x width on the first screen.
Formula: Pixels ÷ DPI = Inches. If you know the pixel width and height of an image, this section will calculate the physical size (in inches) of the image when it is printed or displayed on various devices. To use the calculator, enter the width and height, then select the output resolution which will be used.
Image resolution is the detail an image holds. The term applies to raster digital images, film images, and other types of images. Higher resolution means more image detail. ... A resolution of 10 lines per millimeter means 5 dark lines alternating with 5 light lines, or 5 line pairs per millimeter (5 LP/mm).
Spatial resolution is a measure of the smallest object that can be resolved by the sensor, or the ground area imaged for the instantaneous field of view (IFO) of the sensor, or the linear dimension on the ground represented by each pixel. From: Advanced Remote Sensing, 2012.
Size and resolution of images are inversely proportional to each other. Scaling images up in a layout program will decrease the output resolution of the image at the same percentage of the scale. Optimal image resolution for printing is 300 dpi.
