I write screenplays with a friend and when he works on the script he puts it into PDF file and I purchased this to be able to open files and make corrects, recommendations or add to the script. It worked great but there just are not enough instructions for me. It was trial and error.

Select a picture in your document. The Picture Format tab appears. On the Picture Format tab, in the Adjust group, select Compress Pictures. Under Compression options, do either of the following: Under Resolution, select Use default resolution.
Saving as earlier-version PowerPoint files PowerPoint 97 (PC) and PowerPoint 98 (Mac) and all later PowerPoint versions compress images. Earlier versions of PowerPoint don't. If you Save As to any format that includes PowerPoint 95 or 4 in the name, your PPT file sizes will get very large if they include images.
Step 1: Right-click on any image throughout the deck and select, 'Format Picture' on the menu. Step 2: Locate and click the 'Picture' tab and select 'Compress'. Step 3: Either 'Apply' the compression to selected pictures, or to all pictures in the document.
When you add photos to a presentation, obviously the PowerPoint file size is going to get bigger. Even just one high resolution image can increase the file size dramatically. Add a few more, and you may experience problems with slow-running apps, projection, downloading, and storage.
Go up to the Picture Tools Format tab. Click on the Compress Pictures command. Select your Compression options (see image below) Select your Resolution (see image below) Click OK.
