Select a cell where you want to enter the formula. Type =CONCATENATE(in that cell or in the formula bar. Press and hold Ctrl and click on each cell you want to concatenate. Release the Ctrl button, type the closing parenthesis in the formula bar and press Enter.
To reverse concatenate formula in Excel, you can use a formula based on the TRIM function, the MID function, the SUBSTITUTE function, the KEPT function, and the COLUMNS function. Type this formula into a blank cell and then press Enter key and then drag the Fill Handle down to other cells to apply this formula.
Select a blank cell you will output the concatenation result, and enter the formula =CONCATENATE(TEXT(A2, “yyyy-mm-dd”),” “, B2) (A2 is the cell with date you will concatenate, and B2 is another cell you will concatenate) into it, and press the Enter key. 2.
Open your spreadsheet containing the list of names that you would like to combine. Click in a blank cell in a blank column. In your formula, you will replace A2 and B2 with the cells that contain the data that you want to combine. The data from the two cells should appear combined in this cell.
Concatenate a row with comma/space by formula Highlight the B1:J1&”,” in the formula and press F9 key to replace cell references with cell contents. Note: In above formula, B1:J1 is the row you will concatenate, and “,” means you will separate each cell content by comma.
Cells into one under “What to merge”. Select the delimiter you want under “Separate values with”, it's a comma and a space in this example. Choose where you want to place the result, and most importantly. Uncheck the “Merge all areas in the selection” option.
Select a blank cell adjacent to the list's first data, for instance, the cell C1, and type this formula =CONCATENATE(TRANSPOSE(A1:A7)&”,”) (A1:A7 is the column you will convert to comma serrated list, “,” indicates the separator you want to separate the list). See screenshot below: 2.
Add two strings together: SELECT CONCAT('W3Schools', '.com'). Add 3 strings together: SELECT CONCAT('SQL', is', fun!' ). Add strings together (separate each string with a space character): SELECT CONCAT('SQL', ', 'is', ', 'fun!' ).
