For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
If the three-letter currency code (ISO 4217) is used, it ALWAYS goes in front of the value. If currency symbols are used, some countries put the symbol in front, others behind the value. The symbols $, ¤, A always go in front.
In American English, the currency symbol is placed before the amount; the same is true for British English.
In short, the symbol for the currency always goes in front of the amount (only used in writing), and the word for the currency always goes after the amount (in writing and speech). I agree with Dane graphics, but let me add a couple of notes: If you use the “$” symbol, then it always goes before the amount, e.g. “$20”.
In an English document, when you need to specify the type of dollar (Canadian, American, Australian, etc.), the Translation Bureau recommends using the symbol US$ to represent the American dollar. Write the country symbol (US) first, immediately followed by the dollar sign ($) and the dollar figure: US$ 25.99.
If you are writing out an amount in euros, use the currency symbol or euro sign . Note that the symbol goes before the amount and that there is no space between them (e.g. 50).
The two parallel lines represent the stability of the Euro. Indian Rupee symbol was chosen in 2010 after a nationwide design contest. It is a combination of English letter from Roman Alphabet 'R' and Devanagari letter 'Ra'.
The 3-letter alphabetic currency code is composed of the ISO 3166 two-letter country code plus an extra character (in general the first letter of the country's official currency) to denote the unit.
The official ISO 4217 standard specifies three-letter (“Alpha-3”) codes for currencies worldwide. The first two letters of these codes are usually identical with the two-letter ISO 3166-1 Alpha-2 country codes, which are well-known by internet users, as they are used for country domain suffixes.
Currency numbers For example, USD (United States dollar) has code 840 which is also the numeric code for the US (United States).
ISO currency codes are the three-letter alphabetic codes that represent the various currencies used throughout the world. When combined in pairs, they make up the symbols and cross rates used in currency trading.
