For pdfFiller’s FAQs

Below is a list of the most common customer questions. If you can’t find an answer to your question, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us.
DPI stands for Dots per inch. It indicates the number of dots the printer prints per inch. Higher The DPI, the more toner is used and also excellent quality printouts are printed. So, 1200 DPI consumes more toner than 600 DPI.
DPI: Dot's per inch. The number of dots in a printed inch. The more dots the higher the quality of the print (more sharpness and detail). Higher DPI means higher resolution.
All the images follow the same old rule more DPI better quality, that is higher the DPI, the better will be the quality of the image. Moreover, the resolution of a digital image is incomplete if you do not request the size of the print along with it. Colors in the image will also look better if the DPI is higher.
The quick answer is that higher resolutions lead to better scans for reproducing your images. 600 DPI scans produce much larger files, but help ensure every detail in your print is recorded in digital form. If you want files that are easier to work with, 300 DPI scans would be a better choice.
For a letter or business document with graphics, 600 dpi is going to look fine. If it's a handout for the board of directors, 1200 dpi does the trick. For the average photographer, 1200 dpi is excellent. All of these specs are well within the reach of most printers on the market.
DPI. Stands for “Dots Per Inch.” DPI is used to measure the resolution of an image both on screen and in print. It should be noted that DPI is not dots per square inch. Since a 600 dpi printer can print 600 dots both horizontally and vertically per inch, it actually prints 360,000 (600 × 600) dots per square inch.
